Today is better with me. My project is writting a program on computer. I'm studying how to be a programmer. It's really hard with a girl like me. You see, I'm not good at Math, Physic, Chemistry, and sth like that (maybe computer science). And I don't think you can help me. I did not mean you don't have ability to help me but I have to done this project by myself, alone and no help!
Sorry because I can't listen to your song, Hưng. But I can't listen to it with no one else listen together. And I think this will be a problem with these question: "Who sing that song?", "Why are you listen it?", "How do you know this singer?",... So, I'll turn it on but not today.
And broom, thank for your cheering up! I found that your writting skill is wonderful (me-). I don't know why but I can't remember these idioms, grammar structures and vocab. . You and Hưng are older than me! Would you mind helping me with English? I have practiced English much (in listen, writting, reading) but there is no point. My English is just better than 8 grade student .

@Broom: thanks for your compliment on my song. I know my accent on that song was so alike to the North Vietnamese. ^^ Well, I was born and raised in Saigon, where as "very southern" style, huh . My Dad originally from Quảng Trị, and my Mom's hometown was Hà Nam Ninh, so I kind of...Mix of the South, the Middle, and the North Vietnamese (how cool huh ).
That's so great that we have a linguistic professional here, right sweet? (So broom can help us work a lot out of English troubles, doesn't she?). I mainly major in International Business Communication, but I really felt in love with music, which is my second major in college (i'm taking some music composition class major based on piano). Well, there are not so much "kool" stuffs 'bout me, but I enjoy my school, my educational goals, as I do in this topic.

I do not think about love right now, all I think I need is just chilling out with music, and going straight forward to my education. I can't forget her, as I can stop loving her. I'm not silly to keep loving as a blind, but I'm keeping all memories for last, as anything I do on my day is just to make her happy, and I know somewhere...over the rainbow, she will be proud of me.

@Sweet: how come have we been so closed friends, I really keep watching out on you, so make sure that you're fine on every single day you spent. I'm very bad in computer, so I kinda know how hard to be computer programmer. However, just keep going sweetheart, I and broom if not helping you out of problems, we can help you deal with daily problems by friendship. Always be with you !

Oh, with me, english linguistics is "mission impossible" for me, too. So you are one of my idols.
Now, I'm studying algorithm, and I am very bad at math! How could? Thus I'm thinking about my future job. I'm quite good at computer, very bad at math; little enjoy in physic, but it is also my weak point (last year, my major subject is Physics, not now). I really love liturature but I can not go to your university. I have to go to a natural science. And my Englosh is very terrible. I have a little good marks in biology, but terrible chemistry. So my future is very terrible. I 'm afraid when I grow up, no company want to employee me.
And I'm not good at running business, too!

I love your guys post here. That is very sweet to see how you ae so suppotive to each others, we all have our daily duty works to do and the bad mood sometime. To Sweet don't feel or think your English is not good. Do yu know that in Australia students at year 10 unable to write a proper essay is very common. Your writting is far much better than many English mother tounge speaking students here.

So your guys get that where I live. Speaking, writing, listening ...in English in brief English skill is the mean for me to earn for living in Melbourne, Australia

I was in Vnmese but I forgot a lot, I still love read in Vnmese, the beauty of our language in poem and literature can't be translated to other languages. I can see your guys still carry that style into 'speaking English' here

Anglo Saxon speaking English is very plain, boring like the English soup. To the youths now even worse they like to use slang, lazy and very casual linguist form. Therefore 'Your speaking' here is very proper don't fell so low self esteem. Your guys in VN in some places really impress me. I didn't have a chance to pick up and learn some common terms from the schools when I was there. You have better learning condition now

I was very enthusiastic to get in contact with te foreigners at the time in VN, I understand all your feeling. I studied English very hard to go abroad for another life. Believe me I was there and I love that time in my life

The stories for the Vnmese made another life in another country out of VN are very different from one to one. Among those heard stories of the successful Vnmese abroad, there are many still unable to speak proper English so that they can get into a career or vocation.

There are different levels of using language I mean in any languages. An genguine equivalent qualified B in English in SG can help one easy to get a low skill job such as taxi driver, process worker,,, however to work in the office, technician areas that is the challenge for an adult to start a new life from the scratch where English is a second language

However don't worry about English if you move to the places like Sydney, Melbourne, Orange County, Sanjoe, ... Cali... where many VNmese settle a crowde communities, you'd feel like you're in SG when you step into their shopping centre. You will find an easy job, not paid well but in cash and no English compulsory. You'd survive at the begining then work it out after a while

I found that's interesting to reheash the initial time when I was very fresh, energetic, determined,... by chatting with your guys. Your talking among Sweet, Hung, Broom.. was so nice, I love that pure, kind, generous your guy treat eac other. Your ways of writing was so fluent, nice like poem, sensational.. that refresh me while reading. It was not easy find a forum where the young Vnmese werr so good as your guys

Yes, I absolutely agree with you! When I speaking or writing something in English, first, I think in VNmese, second, I translate it into Eng. However, when I read Eng, it's more easy to me and faster. I don't have to use dicts all time! But I listen terribly in both Eng and VNmese. I don't know why. Maybe my ears have some problem or my concentration has problem, or both of them

I want to be a politician to make my country become better. I am very angry at living in VN. But, running away is nothing. How about others people, who can not run away? yah this is the problem for all of us,learning new language in the adult hood. That's very common and sometime that was very funny, in some context the way of directly word by word tranlated from Vn to Eng. eg.
My mother cooks very good Vnmese cuisine style, I have a close friend to the stage I invite him come to my place foe a meal. Think in Vnmese and said like this:

' Hey Bob come to my house my mother will cook you well' in Vnmese ' Hey tới nhà tao chơi đi Bob má tao nấu mày (cho mày ăn) ngon lắm

To English speaking they migh be scared the S!!! out of them, Bob would understand that my mom would cook and make a meal from Bob'meat (body)

OK in short speaking language just like a parrot learn to speak or like a kid whatever asound a person makes it will imitate that exactly sound. That is the basic rule, follow the way people talk. The disavantage for us in Vn we don't have an environment of daily speaking English. I studied English very hard, passed exam in Vn in English however I couldn't speak much when I arrived here at the first time

That was my supprise to Broom at the way she spoke ( write actually) she learn, pick up and used many common sentence eg. ' to be honest, i .....' ' ...let him have some time to think it over...' '..every morning when i wake up, i would have the high hope that there might be some messages...' They sound very Anglo Saxon

However in other places we still see Vnmese_Eglish direct way:

OK in daily life speaking no one will try to pick and jugge every spoken words, there is no time for that. The Anglis needs to pay attention to get the meaning out of the conversation because sometime it doesn't make sense in the Vnmese_Eglish direct way.
Don't be worry there are always many way to express an opinion, at first I always prepared he sentence in my mind before meeting and speaking. I often thought in Vnmese first then tried to remember how the Anglis say the same thing in their ways.
However the more I talked the more I picked up the way of their Anglo expression.. . soon natuaraly I stopped thinking in Vnmese but 'think and speak' English ... That is why I said above speaking a new language just like a parrot inmitate the sound that they hear. English that I leaned in VN before was just good for writing and reading, I and others got stuck in the way of treating English as a learning subject, in fact it is just a language like all other languages, the sounds, the tunes... that Ethnic speaks

yeah I believe that was just the habit. Let put it this way we never pay attention much the way we talk when we are speaking Vnmese, and the listener (also born Vnmese) didn't either. they both just put the message through from one to one in the sound called a language. We have a good proverbs 'uốn lưỡi bãy lần trước khi nói' We are very used to with our habit, that is the automatic reaction. SO that might be your problem now you don't pay much attention that's all

Suprisingly I am Catholic too. However 'chiếc áo không làm lên thầy tu' religions sometime can be viewed and used as a label
, in the extreme cases they flaged a War to other religons. I was very proud to be a pious Catholic, thanks to the migration abroad I learn more and my mind opens out to the world

yes, when I read VN_eng way, this is very easy to me! That's why I rarely use dictionary when read this topic! When I reading "harry Potter", this is more difficult then reading "The Unwanted' (wrote by Kien Nguyen). (Truly, I only read one chapter of each of them)

I'm just a young girl, 'not yet a woman', I don't have big heart as you think, but I have an open mind! "Open eyes, open mind',huh? Now, I can see VN's weak points, but, maybe, when I become Vietnamese PRESEDENT (?!) I can't see anything, or 'have to not see anything'!

They are living not only in the mother country but all over the world. They give their hands in for all sort of actiivities. We heard so many stories of charity works occuring in many heartbreaking places such as 'Trung Tâm nuôi trẻ nhiễm HIV' in Thủ Đức comforting many children with their broken heart. Have a look, today's Teacher Day, it's awesome in which I and my closed friends come back to our secondary school to stay together again with respectable teachers after a long period of time. What a day !
Telling you something haunting which sometimes remind me of memories in secondary school ( actually, I am now a high School student ) makes my heart warm and deep down inside, there is great belief rising !

Have a look, today's Teacher Day,

It is a long time when I last returned my primary school. I don't have to visit my secondary because it is also my school now. (at my age, others have at least 2 schools to return). In my mind, I only remember 2 great teachers. They help me open my heart and my mind. The time studied with them is my sweetest memories. But, the time have passed away...
This is my last day I can access internet for entertainment in this week. Until 27/11, I will return and have some fun to share with you!

i think she is very courageous. If i were she , I can't say what i think because I'm afraid what people talking about me. You know , it's very hard to show your real face with the work.
