If I were a billionaire…

When my life takes a bad turn, I usually have the same question : If I were rich, what would my life look like? My parents said that was a question of an advanced state of depression. Close your eyes, go ahead and don’t dream ! There are other people unluckier than you !

Depression or dream, whatever, it is not really important. In the meantime, a lot of visions are whirling through my head: work, power, travel, luxury and … women; Archetypal dreams of an ordinary man.
First of all, I would create a company, because I would stop working. It is not so contradictory : I think that a lot of people need to work, and it would be the best way to say good bye to work : to acknowledge work is good for other people, but not for a billionaire.
I would spend free time leaning English and other foreign languages. Languages mean communication and new horizons. I would make many worlds tours, stay in tropical countries when the weather was cold and return to Paris only in spring. I would see other civilisations, other costumes, far and original traditions. Life is too short to miss these cultures all over the world.
Would I live with several women ? Might be not, they would make too much noise in the house, even if they got along well with each others. Another reason, I would promise my wives I would look for them during the first part of my next life to rebuild together the same feelings and to make the lines of our lives coincide. If I had several women, I would probably spend the whole next life searching for them; I hope not.
I would build a palace, not too big because I could not keep it in order. A garden would be designed with marble spool belonging to the walk from the residence gate to the house. When I drank a cup of tea on the terrace, I could admire the sky without holding up my head, because the blue sky would be reflected on the wide water surface.
An artificial waterfall would be constructed. The water flow and bubbling waves would rock me and temper my nerves becoming too fragile because of the perilous present life.
The bedroom would be spacious and silk should be used everywhere. If I had a nightmare, for example, to be ruined, I would wake up in a such smooth and luxurious bedding and console myself that I am still rich.

Is it true that life is so hard that we dream of other circumstances? Well…, but let’s get babies as witnesses, no body is as innocent as them. If life is not hard, why don’t they smile when they are born? They cry ! But I firmly think these sweet dreams would be lived by someone, somewhere in this world. These lucky people might have a malicious smile when they saw the first light of their life.
